Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 18 September 2026

1. Supplier

These General Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of the services offered through www.surftherapy.es by Riccardo Chiura, sole trader (autónomo), NIE Y8308669W, business address at Centro Comercial Lobos Bahía, Av. Ntra. Sra. del Carmen, 7 – 35660 Corralejo, Las Palmas (Fuerteventura), Spain, phone +34 648 90 89 74, email info@surftherapy.es, trading as Surf Therapy Surf School ("Surf Therapy").

2. Services

Surf Therapy offers: surf courses (beginner, beginner-intermediate and private lessons), equipment rental (boards and wetsuits), accommodation in the surf house (shared or private room) and packages combining course and accommodation. The description and current price of each service are shown on the relevant page of the website.

3. Acceptance and booking process

Making a booking implies prior reading and express acceptance of these terms. The process is as follows:

  1. The customer selects the service, the dates and the number of participants.
  2. The customer provides their details and confirms the booking by paying the deposit set out in clause 5.
  3. Surf Therapy sends confirmation of the booking by email. The booking is firm only after that confirmation and is subject to availability.

Booking at least one week before arrival is recommended.

4. Prices and taxes

Published prices are in euros and include applicable indirect taxes (IGIC) where due. They do not include flights, travel insurance or any service not expressly stated in the description of the service purchased. Surf Therapy may change its prices at any time; the price applicable is always the one in force at the time of booking and stated in the confirmation.

5. Payment methods and terms

  • To confirm a booking, a deposit of 20% or 10% of the total amount is required, depending on the service, payable by credit or debit card or through PayPal on the website.
  • The balance is payable on arrival, by card or in cash, or by bank transfer made at least 7 working days before arrival.

Card payments are processed through secure payment gateways; Surf Therapy does not store customers' full card details.

6. Changes to a booking

Dates may be changed subject to availability for the new dates. In exceptional cases — for example changes requested during the week before arrival, or moving the booking to the following year — an administration fee of €50 may apply.

The day of a scheduled surf lesson may be changed, subject to availability, by coming to the shop at least the day before the lesson during opening hours. Changes requested on the same day as the lesson are not accepted.

7. Cancellation by the customer

Bookings may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation must be sent by email to info@surftherapy.es or by post; notifying us by phone as well is recommended. Cancellation takes effect on the day Surf Therapy receives it and incurs the following charges:

  • Up to 29 days before the start of the course or arrival: 25% of the total amount.
  • Up to 14 days before: 50% of the total amount.
  • Thereafter: 80% of the total amount.
  • Cancellation 1 day before the start of the course or arrival, or no-show: 100% of the total amount.

Any refund is issued using the same payment method used for the booking.

8. Right of withdrawal

Under Article 103(l) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 (TRLGDCU), which implements Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for leisure, sports and accommodation services provided on a specific date or during a specific period, such as the courses, lessons, rentals and stays booked through this website. The cancellation terms in clause 7 apply instead.

9. Weather and sea conditions. Cancellation by Surf Therapy

Lessons run every day of the year except 1 January. Lessons usually run from 09:00/09:30, with pick-up at your accommodation, until 13:00/13:30. For safety reasons or because of sea or weather conditions, a lesson may be moved to the afternoon or rescheduled to another day.

If Surf Therapy has to cancel a service for reasons attributable to it or due to force majeure and rescheduling is not possible, the customer may choose between an equivalent service, a voucher or a refund of the amounts paid for the service not provided, with no further compensation.

10. Accommodation: check-in and check-out

Check-in takes place during shop hours, from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 17:30 to 19:30; rooms are available from 15:00. If you arrive outside those hours, access codes will be provided and check-in will be completed the following day. Check-out is at 11:00; luggage may be left and bathrooms used until departure. Bed linen and towels are included in all accommodation types.

11. Transfers and flight delays

Where a transfer is included or booked, the customer must report any issue to +34 648 90 89 74 before their flight departs. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the transfer with no right to a refund.

12. Participation, safety and customer responsibility

The customer declares that they are in a suitable physical condition to practise surfing and undertakes to follow the instructions of the instructors at all times, to use the equipment provided correctly and to comply with the safety rules of the school and of the beaches. Equipment must be returned in the same condition; damage caused by negligent use may be charged to the customer.

There is no minimum age, but minors require the consent of their parents or legal guardians, to be evidenced before the activity begins.

Surf Therapy holds the public liability insurance required by applicable law. Customers are advised to take out travel and accident insurance.

13. Customer service and complaints

For any query, issue or complaint, please contact info@surftherapy.es or call +34 648 90 89 74. Official complaint forms are available to consumers at the premises.

Under Regulation (EU) 524/2013, consumers may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Data protection

Personal data provided to manage a booking is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Where the customer is a consumer, the courts of the customer's place of residence shall have jurisdiction in accordance with consumer protection legislation.
